Salesman Savvy! Secrets to Win More Customers!

Everybody’s heard of a car salesman, but what about a car parts salesman?

In my last post I concentrated on the beauty found in a car’s exterior. Today we explore a world devoted to what’s under the hood— sort of. It turns out that finding customers to buy parts is just as challenging as selling the car itself.

Take for example this brochure from 1953. It’s devoted to helping a novice Ford dealer find success by courting new prospects and assisting current clients.

Comical drawings appear throughout the booklet, along with wise advice to help the reader establish and grow relationships with potential customers and current ones alike. Advice still relevant more than sixty years after it was first offered.

I’m going to share with you each page of this brochure, pretty much as I got it, with only an occasional comment in red here or there. FYI: no cartoon animals or people were harmed in the making of this pamphlet. 😀
